TARDOC / TARMED
Individual outpatient medical services are billed under a nationwide tariff; TARMED is being replaced by TARDOC, and the software has to follow the change.
Definition
Billing is in tariff points multiplied by the point value, which is negotiated per canton and per insurer. The same service therefore costs different amounts in two places — the software needs tariff positions and point values separately.
A tariff change requires not only the new list of positions but the handling of the transition: services before the cut-off under the old tariff, after it under the new one, and insurers’ rejections from both worlds. Without that transition logic, billing stops.
What the software must be able to do
Ask for the vendor’s timetable for the tariff change, then whether point values are maintained per payer and per canton, then how rejections arrive in the program. The tariff itself is mandatory — the transition is the test.
