Vehicle inspections
The official vehicle inspection examines vehicles at statutory intervals for roadworthiness; the intervals depend on the vehicle type and its age.
Definition
For a garage, the inspection date of its customers’ vehicles is a sales occasion: whoever keeps the vehicle record with the next inspection date can write in good time and sell the preparation service. Whoever does not learns the date when the customer already holds the summons.
The summons comes from the cantonal road traffic office, not from the garage — the deadlines are therefore not negotiable, and observing them is the keeper’s duty. For the garage the benefit lies in the lead time.

What the software must be able to do
The check is the vehicle record: one entry per vehicle with keeper, plate, last and next inspection, linked to the job history — and reminders generated from it. A customer file without a vehicle reference cannot do this.
