MediData runs the widely used network for electronic invoice and data exchange in Swiss healthcare; invoices from service providers to insurers travel over this network.
Definition
For a practice or a home-care business the connection is therefore the precondition for electronic billing. It replaces paper and follow-up queries — and turns an insurer’s rejection into a message inside the program rather than a letter.
What to clarify is the scope: invoice dispatch, feedback messages, cost guarantees and payment advices are different message types, and not every software supports them all.

Check whether the connection is included in the subscription price or costs extra as a module, which message types are supported, and whether rejections land automatically on the case concerned. Without the return path a paper pile forms next to the program.
